Today I’m sharing what I wore for Easter Sunday – better late than never right? I think this outfit would also be great for a baby or bridal shower. Something I love about wearing separates for a special occasion is that it gives me a chance to get creative with pieces that I otherwise only wear to work. I love that this season classic details are being exaggerated and made into a trend in themselves. Clearly showcased in this ensemble – ruffles! To keep a ruffle-heavy outfit from looking juvenile, I picked a top in a classic fabric and fit and a skirt in a soft pastel rather than a bright color. These heels have been with me since early college and while they are a little worse for wear (no coincidence the back isn’t pictured) they are so comfortable, versatile and the perfect height. If I could ever find another pair of these heels I would buy them again I love them that much.
If you follow along on Instagram, you saw that Alex and I went to visit our families in Michigan for Easter weekend. We both grew up in the same small town so it makes trips home feel extra nostalgic. This one especially as I took my mom out for a fun afternoon together and we went to the Coney Island (a Detroit spin on a classic diner, no relation to Coney Island amusement park in Brooklyn) her dad took her to as a little girl. I was also able to see plenty of friends and was stuffed to the brim with good home cooking. I probably won’t eat that much again until next time we go back!
